The Origins and Relevance of a Theological Concept
This article explores the origins and theological relevance of the concept of hypocrisy, based on its roots in ancient Greek theatre and its reconfiguration in the New Testament, particularly in the first gospel. Recalling that the word ὑποκριτής originally referred to an actor, Céline Rohmer shows that hypocrisy, before being a moral category, relates to the staging of speech and the relationship between the internal and the external. An analysis of the theatrical language used by Paul and then by Matthew reveals that the actor’s mask is not a concealment but a revelation of the truth received from God. The hypocritical actor, by taking himself to be the author of his own words, breaks the living relationship that connects him to his Creator. In dialogue with Wajdi Mouawad and René Girard, the author highlights the tragic dimension of this rupture and the illusion of a humanity cut off from others. Re-reading hypocrisy from a theatrical perspective allows us to rethink the theological task as a call to play, not as impostors, but as actors who bear witness to the word received, secretly, behind the mask.

Is Bible a World of Ideas?
Since Spinoza, the development of the historical-critical method has led to a reconsideration of the the biblical text. The article highlights the limits of approaches such as concordism, rationalism, or the idea that historicity or antiquity gives value to a text. Conversely, considering the text solely as a world of ideas runs the risk of decontextualizing it and no longer understanding it. Based on Joshua 10:11-13, the last part shows how contemporary historical-critical method deals with such a passage.

A Look Back at Vehemence: Ce que c’est que la France catholique sous le règne de Louis le Grand (What Catholic France is like under the Reign of Louis the Great)
Published in 1686 immediately after the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes, which it violently denounces, Pierre Bayle’s (1647-1706) pamphlet Ce que c’est que la France toute catholique sous le règne de Louis le Grand is rarely considered on its own merits: De la tolérance, the famous Commentaire philosophique sur ces paroles de Jésus-Christ : “Contrains-les d’entrer”, which Bayle published the same year, is more often studied. The present study, however, attempts to show its importance, both for the original literary device it puts in place and for its denunciation of the crimes perpetrated in the name of “positive religions”. This very sombre discourse is in fact the counterpart to that of the Commentaire philosophique: it thus expresses the other side of Baylian thinking on established religions in general and Christianity in particular.

Comparative Study of the Concept of Judgment Day in the Targumic and Qur’anic Corpora
The concept of “judgment day”, which appears as “yawm al-dīn” (يوم الدين) in the Quran and “yom dina” (יום דינא) or “yom dina rabba” (יום דינא רבא) in the Targums, occupies an important place in the theological thought of both Muslim and Jewish traditions. Based on a study of the diachronic evolution of this concept in Targumic literature and its founding role in Meccan Quranic preaching, this article highlights the specificities of each tradition and then explores the convergences that suggest a shared heritage, but also important theological divergences.
