Résumé
La promesse faite par le Christ johannique d'envoyer l'Esprit Saint, le Paraclet, est généralement considérée comme s'accomplissant à Pentecôte. En suggérant que son accomplissement signifie la continuation de la révélation de Dieu et que l'Esprit Paraclet compris comme Esprit de prophétie en est le principe, c'est-à-dire le moteur ou la source d'inspiration, Gérard SIEGWALT soulève une double question. La théologie occidentale doit-elle réévaluer la place qu'elle accorde à la pneumatologie par rapport à la christologie ? Comment la théologie chrétienne se situe-t-elle par rapport à l'islam, et plus spécialement par rapport au Coran qui affirme être une prophétie post-judéo-chrétienne ?
Abstract
In John's Gospel, Christ's promise to send the Paraclete is generally thought as being fulfilled at Pentecost. Gerard SIEGWALT contends that the exact meaning of this fulfilment is rather the extension of God's revelation and that the Paraclete understood as Prophetic Spirit is the principle of it, its source of inspiration. This raises the twofold question of how western theology relates Pneumatology to Christology and of how it faces the challenge of Islam's interpretation of the Paraclete.
