Paul HARLÉ commente ici le récit d'un miracle accompli en terre étrangère (Mc 7, 31-37). Jésus y apparaît comme doué d'une remarquable perspicacité psychologique en face d'un sourd-muet. Par la vertu phonique du mot araméen ephphata, articulé devant l'infirme, il "l'ouvre" à la communication orale et le sauve de son enfermement.

Abstract
Paul HARLÉ examines in detail the story of a miracle reported only by Mark (7:31-37): the healing of a deaf-mute accomplished by Jesus in foreign land. He suggests that by uttering the Aramaic word ephphata in front of the man, Jesus "opens" him to communication and thus saves him from his confinement.
