Jean RICHARD montre ici comment le "socialisme religieux", élaboré par Tillich en terre protestante dans les années 1920, peut aider à résoudre le conflit toujours latent entre la "doctrine sociale de l'Église" catholique-romaine et la "théologie de la libération" issue des pays du Tiers Monde, d'Amérique latine tout particulièrement. Au coeur de ce débat se trouve, en effet, la question du socialisme marxiste : quelle interprétation lui donner ? Quel est son rapport avec l'Évangile chrétien ? Quel accueil lui faire dans l'Église ?
Abstract
Jean RICHARD shows how the "religious socialism" which Tillich developed in a protestant context in the 1920s can help resolving the latent conflict between the "social doctrine of the Catholic Church" and the "liberation theology" which originates in the Third World countries, and particularly Latin America. At the heart of the debate are the questions raised by Marxist socialism. How to interpret it ? What is its relationship with the Christian Gospel ? How must the Church receive it ?
